The Merchandiser Softgoods – Europe (f/m/x) plays a key role in growing Black Diamond’s softgoods categories—apparel, packs, gloves, and beyond—across Europe. In this role, you’ll be a key driver for growth, connecting local market needs with our Global Product Creation team to ensure consumer insights, retail realities, and channel strategies come together to shape collections that truly resonate.

Your focus is twofold: defining and executing the European softgoods assortment strategy, and managing product lifecycles to deliver commercial excellence across both Wholesale and DTC channels. Working closely with Marketing, E-Commerce, Sales, and Global Product teams, you’ll help ensure that Black Diamond softgoods reach the right consumers, in the right way, at the right time.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Growth & Assortment Vision – Drive the strategic growth of Black Diamond Apparel in Europe by defining and executing the European softgoods assortment vision.
  • Market Expertise & Insights – Act as the key link between the European market and the global product team, providing consumer insights, trend analysis, and competitor intelligence to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
  • Go-to-Market Planning – Develop and execute the go-to-market calendar in collaboration with Marketing, E-Commerce, Sales, and Product teams, ensuring product stories and priorities are clearly communicated.
  • Product Lifecycle Management – Manage the full product lifecycle from launch to phase-out, including product storytelling, sales support, and readiness across all channels.
  • Digital Merchandising & Brand Presence – Partner with E-commerce to strengthen digital merchandising and brand visibility while overseeing showroom setup and sample management.
  • Commercial Strategy & Inventory Management – Contribute to pricing, inventory, and sell-through strategies to maximize profitability and maintain strong brand positioning.
  • Analysis & Optimization – Analyze product and category performance to continuously refine assortment, planning, and sales strategies.
WHAT YOU IDEALLY BRING WITH YOU
  • 2–5 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or assortment planning in retail/e-commerce, ideally with premium consumer or softgoods brands.
  • Strong commercial instincts, coupled with a genuine passion for outdoor gear and consumer experience.
  • Analytical skills with confidence in using numbers to guide decisions (forecasts, KPIs, and financials).
  • Excellent organizational and project management ability, with a structured approach to complex tasks.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative, with the ability to influence across functions.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and adaptable in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder setting.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus, but not required.

Als Merchandiser Softgoods – Europe (m/w/d) spielst du eine entscheidende Rolle beim Wachstum der Softgoods-Kategorien von Black Diamond – dazu gehören Apparel, Packs, Gloves und mehr – in ganz Europa. In dieser Position bist du ein wichtiger Treiber für Wachstum, der die Bedürfnisse der lokalen Märkte mit unserem Global Product Creation Team verbindet. Dein Ziel: sicherstellen, dass Konsumenten-Insights, Marktgegebenheiten und Kanalstrategien zusammenkommen, um Kollektionen zu gestalten, die wirklich überzeugen.

Dein Fokus liegt dabei auf zwei Hauptaufgaben: zum einen die Definition und Umsetzung der europäischen Sortimentsstrategie für Softgoods, zum anderen das Management des gesamten Produktlebenszyklus, um starke kommerzielle Ergebnisse in Wholesale- und DTC-Kanälen zu erzielen.

In enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Teams aus Marketing, E-Commerce, Sales und Global Product sorgst du dafür, dass Black Diamond Softgoods die richtigen Konsument:innen, auf die richtige Weise, zur richtigen Zeit erreichen.

  • Wachstums- & Sortimentsvision – Treibe das strategische Wachstum von Black Diamond Apparel in Europa voran, indem du die europäische Softgoods-Sortimentsvision definierst und umsetzt.
  • Marktkenntnis & Insights – Du bist die Brücke zwischen dem europäischen Markt und unserem globalen Produktteam. Liefere Kunden-Insights, Trendanalysen und Wettbewerbsinformationen, um Wachstumschancen zu identifizieren und strategische Entscheidungen zu unterstützen.
  • Go-to-Market Planning – Gemeinsam mit Marketing, E-Commerce, Sales und Produktteams planst und setzt du den Go-to-Market-Kalender um und sorgst dafür, dass Produktstories und Prioritäten klar und verständlich kommuniziert werden.
  • Produktlebenszyklus – Du begleitest den gesamten Produktlebenszyklus – von der Einführung bis zum Auslaufen – und kümmerst dich um Produktstorytelling, Vertriebsunterstützung und die Vorbereitung aller Kanäle.
  • Digitales Merchandising & Markenpräsenz  – Zusammen mit E-Commerce stärkst du digitales Merchandising und Markenpräsenz und behältst gleichzeitig Showroom-Aufbau und Musterverwaltung im Blick.
  • Bestandsmanagement  – Trage zu Preisgestaltung, Lagerbeständen und Sell-Through-Strategien bei, um Profitabilität zu maximieren und die starke Positionierung der Marke zu sichern.
  • Analyse & Optimierung – Du analysierst Produkt- und Kategorieleistungen, um Sortiment, Planung und Vertriebsstrategien stetig zu verbessern.
DAS BRINGST DU IDEALERWEISE MIT
  • 2–5 Jahre Erfahrung in Merchandising, Einkauf oder Sortimentsplanung im Einzelhandel oder E-Commerce, idealerweise mit Premium- oder Softgoods-Marken.
  • Kaufmännisches Gespür gepaart mit Leidenschaft für Outdoor-Ausrüstung und großem Interesse an Kundenerlebnissen.
  • Analytisches Denken: Du nutzt Zahlen sicher, um Entscheidungen zu treffen – sei es bei Prognosen, KPIs oder Finanzkennzahlen.
  • Organisation & Projektmanagement: Du behältst auch bei komplexen Aufgaben den Überblick und arbeitest strukturiert.
  • Teamplayer: Du bist kooperativ und kannst über Fachbereiche hinweg überzeugen.
  • Proaktiv & flexibel: Du packst gerne selbst an und fühlst dich in einem dynamischen Umfeld mit vielen Stakeholdern wohl.
  • Fließendes Englisch; weitere europäische Sprachen sind von Vorteil, aber keine Voraussetzung.
